    Ne

    Screw compressors without a variable-speed drive run at constant speed and balance demand by alternating between loaded running and off-load. They are simpler, cheaper and, in plants with steady consumption where the machine runs near full load anyway, they give nothing away to a variable-speed unit. What matters then is a properly sized receiver so the compressor does not cycle too often.
