SCR-160/10EPM2 screw compressor motor power input 160 kW, supplied pressure 10 bar, volumetric flow rate 1620 Nm3/h
Code: SCR-160/10EPM2Related products
Product detailed description
The most powerful machine in the range, set to ten bar: 27,000 l/min. It is the highest output you will get in this range at ten bar — and the machine where it pays most to verify that the pressure is genuinely necessary.
Why 10 bar
Ten bar gives 27,000 l/min against 33,500 at seven, or 19 % less. Regulation goes down to 7,600 l/min, 28 % of output — still usable, but on a machine that never drops below seven and a half cubic metres, steady demand or a substantial receiver is a condition.

|---|---|---|---|
| Order code | Pressure | Free air delivery (l/min) | Loss against 7 bar |
| SCR-160/7EPM2 | 7 bar | 9,300 – 33,500 | 0 % |
| SCR-160/8EPM2 | 8 bar | 8,800 – 31,000 | 7 % |
| SCR-160/10EPM2 — this machine | 10 bar | 7,600 – 27,000 | 19 % |
The dimensions of 2,700 × 1,650 × 2,150 mm, weight of 3,150 kg, DN 80 outlet and noise level of 78 dB(A) are identical across all three settings — it is one and the same machine.

How it differs from its neighbours
The smaller SCR-132/10EPM2 gives 23,000 l/min in an identical frame and asks less of the ventilation — 25,000 rather than 30,000 m³/h. If less pressure would do, the same machine as the SCR-160/7EPM2 adds 6,500 l/min.
What is inside
Permanent magnet motor
Oil cooling in a closed circuit, IP65 protection, a design with no bearings. On 160 kW a saving of 5–6 % against IE2 is a figure you can see in the budget.
Direct drive through a taper coupling
No belts and no gearbox. On 160 kW a slipping belt would mean a loss of output that nobody notices until the electricity bill arrives.
Frequency inverter
Instead of blowing off the excess it reduces speed: 7,600 to 27,000 l/min steplessly, a floor at 28 % of output, pressure still within ±0.1 bar.
New-generation airend
A reground rotor profile and optimised ports. On a machine giving 27,000 l/min, every percent of efficiency means a different sum than it would on a small compressor.
SCR9000 controller
A graphical schematic of the machine, a service schedule and remote monitoring over RS485. A cascade of sixteen machines with no separate control cabinet.
What the machine needs in the compressor room
Twenty-seven thousand litres a minute at ten bar is 1,620 m³/h. The regulation floor of 7,600 l/min means the machine never comes below seven and a half cubic metres — without steady demand or a large receiver it will cycle. Ventilation 30,000 m³/h.

Equipment
- permanent magnet motor above IE4 level, oil-cooled in a closed circuit, IP65 protection, no bearings
- direct drive through a taper coupling — no belts, gearbox or coupling
- vector-controlled frequency inverter, regulation across 25 to 100 % of speed
- the cooling fan is inverter-driven as well
- new screw airend with a rotor profile developed in Japan, service life over 100,000 hours
- SCR9000 controller with touchscreen, weekly schedule and cascade of up to 16 machines
- intake nanofilter with 99.9 % retention, 0.1 µm oil filter
- oversized separator holding residual oil below 3 ppm
- all-steel internal pipework instead of rubber hoses
- soft start — the current never exceeds the rated value
Six and a half thousand litres a minute is a difference worth walking the installation for, right through to the last point of use. If only part of the plant needs ten bar, splitting it into two pressure circuits is usually cheaper. The material is in the SCR-EPM2 range.
When only part of the production needs that pressure, two circuits work out cheaper than driving the whole plant at ten bar.

Shanghai Screw Compressor Co., Ltd(SCR) is a manufacturing company founded in 2000, focusing on innovation, research, development, production, sales and service in the field of industrial compressors. The SCR production plant is a modern facility with more than 250 employees on an area of over 80,000m2. More than 10% of the staff is in the engineering division with a focus on research and development.
SCR's product portfolio consists of energy-efficient screw compressors, including oil-free and two-stage solutions. SCR manufactures in accordance with ISO 9001 standards, holds CE certification for the European market, UL for the US market, Class Zero certification for oil-free machines and the performance of all machines manufactured is audited by SGS.
After more than 20 years of development, SCR has entered into strategic collaborations with many partners and its products are exported to more than 80 countries worldwide.
In 2018, SCR entered into a strategic cooperation in the form of a joint venture with Japanese manufacturer Anest Iwata, which has implemented its quality and technology control system at SCR, helping to develop and bring new, energy-efficient solutions and even more reliable compressors to the market.
