Twenty-two kilowatts at eight bar. This machine tends to be the choice of plants where air drives several workstations at once and demand changes through the day — which is precisely what the inverter is built for.
Why 8 bar
Eight bar gives up to 4,000 l/min, only 100 l/min less than seven. One curiosity from the maker’s data sheet: the lower limit of control here is 1,200 l/min, a hundred more than at the seven-bar setting — so at very low demand eight bar regulates a shade worse.

Dimensions 1,200 × 800 × 1,100 mm, weight 560 kg, outlet R 1" and noise 66 dB(A) are identical at all three settings — it is one and the same machine.
How it differs from its neighbours
The nearest smaller is SCR-18/8EPM with 3,500 l/min in the same frame, the nearest larger SCR-30/8EPM with 6,100 l/min already in the big frame. There is no intermediate step between 22 and 30 kW.
What is inside
Permanent magnet motor
Magnets instead of a cage: efficiency exceeds IE4 and takes 5 to 6 % off consumption against IE2. On a machine delivering 4,000 l/min that adds up faster than you would expect.
Direct drive through a taper coupling
The airend sits directly on the motor. A slipping belt would quietly eat into 4,000 l/min and you would only notice on the bill; here there is none.
Frequency inverter
Workshop demand fluctuates — so the inverter reduces speed instead of blowing off the excess. The machine covers the 1,200 to 4,000 l/min band without a single shutdown.
Screw airend
The new airend is quiet and efficient — on 22 kW the sixteen percent improvement shows up in consumption before it shows in noise, though that is 66 dB(A) here.
SCR9000 controller
You schedule when the machine should run and it starts and stops itself. Over RS485 you connect it to remote monitoring, and it handles a cascade of up to sixteen units.
What the machine needs in the plant room
A weight of 560 kg is 80 kg more than the 18.5 kW in the same cabinet — if the machine has to go upstairs or onto a grating, that is a difference worth watching. Ventilation stays at 5,400 m³/h and the outlet at R 1", so neither the pipework nor the ventilation needs changing against the smaller machines.

When demand swings between shifts, two smaller machines often beat one large one — the controller sequences them itself, up to sixteen units. How that works out is visible in the table in the SCR-EPM range. Above 45 kW the SCR-EPM2 range takes over.
One holds the base load, the other comes in at peak, and when service takes one off line production does not stop. The controller swaps them over by itself.
