The 18.5 kW machine is quietly the best-value step in the EPM range. It has the same cabinet and weight as the 15 kW model — 1,200 × 800 × 1,100 mm and 480 kg — yet at seven bar it delivers 700 l/min more.
Why 7 bar
At 7 bar it gives up to 3,700 l/min. Speed control goes down to 1,300 l/min, about a third of output — slightly less than in the other classes, where the inverter pulls back to a quarter. If demand drops below that, the machine will stop and restart more often.

Dimensions 1,200 × 800 × 1,100 mm, weight 480 kg, outlet R 1" and noise 66 dB(A) are identical at all three settings — it is one and the same machine.
How it differs from its neighbours
Against SCR-15/7EPM that is 23 % more air in the same footprint, for a price difference that pays back quickly in shift work. The next step up, SCR-22/7EPM, adds another 400 l/min but at the cost of 80 kg more.
What is inside
Permanent magnet motor
Above IE4 level, oil-cooled, IP65 protection and no bearings to grease. On 18.5 kW it saves five to six percent against an IE2 motor — not once, but every hour.
Direct drive through a taper coupling
No belts, no gearbox. Tensioning and regular replacement disappear — and with them the downtime that would stop the whole workshop on a 18.5 kW machine.
Frequency inverter
Stepless regulation from 1,300 to 3,700 l/min, down to 35 % of output. It holds pressure to within ±0.1 bar and the start never exceeds the rated current.
Screw airend
A rotor profile developed in Japan and multi-point oil injection. Efficiency up to 16 % better than the previous generation, service life over 100,000 hours.
SCR9000 controller
Touchscreen, weekly schedule and operating log. The protections watch for overload, power failure and phase imbalance — worth having on 18.5 kW.
What the machine needs in the plant room
The 18.5 kW has the same demands on space and ventilation as the 15 kW — 5,400 m³/h and a 1,200 × 800 mm footprint — but delivers 3,700 l/min, or 222 m³/h. So if you are building the plant room to suit, it is worth preparing it for the higher class straight away; it will not take any more room.

If you are still putting the plant room together, go through the whole the SCR-EPM range — the table shows where the jumps in output are and where only the price moves. A receiver for the machine is in air receivers, a dryer in compressed air dryers.
Between 15 and 18.5 kW you gain not a centimetre of footprint nor a kilogram of weight. All you gain is air.
