The 18.5 kW machine set to ten bar gives 2,900 l/min — exactly what the 15 kW machine gives at seven. For the same air you are therefore paying one power class more, purely because of the pressure.
Why 10 bar
Ten bar means 2,900 l/min, with control down to 1,000 l/min. Against the seven-bar setting of the same machine that is 800 l/min less and consumption roughly a fifth higher. That sum is why it is always worth checking whether the system really wants ten bar.

Dimensions 1,200 × 800 × 1,100 mm, weight 480 kg, outlet R 1" and noise 66 dB(A) are identical at all three settings — it is one and the same machine.
How it differs from its neighbours
Above it sits SCR-22/10EPM with 3,500 l/min, below it SCR-15/10EPM with 2,300 l/min. And if ten bar turns out not to be necessary, the same machine as SCR-18/7EPM gives 3,700 l/min.
What is inside
Permanent magnet motor
A closed oil circuit and a bearingless design mean one less service item. On 18.5 kW it adds 5–6 % of saving against an ordinary IE2 motor on top of that.
Direct drive through a taper coupling
A taper coupling transmits the power with no belt losses. On a machine meant to run daily, what matters most is what does not need checking.
Frequency inverter
It comes down to 34 % of output, that is 1,000 l/min, and does not have to cycle. The soft start puts no more load on the supply than normal running.
Screw airend
A reground profile and optimised ports. On a machine giving 2,900 l/min the airend is the one part that cannot be improved afterwards — which is why it is new.
SCR9000 controller
A graphical schematic shows what is happening inside, the service schedule reminds you about the oil change. It runs a cascade of sixteen compressors with no separate control cabinet.
What the machine needs in the plant room
Ten bar and 2,900 l/min gives 174 m³/h. Noise stays at 66 dB(A), because the canopy and cooling are the same as at lower pressures — higher pressure does not show up as noise. Ventilation of 5,400 m³/h applies unchanged.

Ten-bar settings make sense on presses, some valve islands and machines whose pressure the maker specifies. You will find the comparison with its neighbours in the SCR-EPM range. If you also need dry air, add a dryer from compressed air dryers.
Same air, one class up. That is the whole price of those three bar — and it is worth checking whether you really need them.
