The V30-2.2-50VM is a vertical compressor that takes up 52 × 41 cm of floor and yet has the same V30 pump as the horizontal machines: two pistons in a V, 1,450 rpm, 330 l/min and 10 bar from an ordinary socket. The vertical tank stands against a wall or in the corner of the van, the long locking handle tilts it onto its wheels and you wheel 62 kg about like a sack truck.
What a vertical tank gives you, and what it costs you
A footprint a third smaller than the horizontal fifty and a height of 1.1 m — a vertical compressor fits where a horizontal one would be in the way: between the bench and the wall, in the corner of the van, under the stairs. Capacity, pump, panel and output are the same as on the 50CM, so a sander and a spray gun run just as smoothly. What the height costs you is the centre of gravity: on an uneven floor it stands less steadily than a horizontal tank, and you cannot work over the machine. The handle adjusts and comes off once the machine has a permanent spot.
