Altair 150 is the highest mineral oil of the range — for industrial plants where the compressor runs several shifts. The five-litre canister matches the capacity of the largest piston machines, so a change is done from a single pack.
When Altair is no longer enough
In multi-shift duty the compressor never properly cools down. The oil stays warm, oxidises faster and forms sludge sooner. Altair 150 therefore carries an additive package built for continuous thermal load.
When high ambient temperature is added to that — a compressor room under the roof, in summer, next to furnaces — mineral oil no longer suffices and the synthetic Altair Plus belongs there.

How many changes it covers
One canister fills a whole B79 or BV89 (5.111 l) with some left for topping up. A B70 (4.000 l) also takes one, and a B60 (2.556 l) gets two changes out of it.
How it differs from its siblings
A machine in daily but single-shift use needs only ALT-1. At high ambient temperature reach for the synthetic ALTPL-5, and for industrial machines for ALTU-5.

A canister works out cheaper per litre. That only matters if you use it up — opened oil is not meant to be stored for long.
Technical data follow the supplier’s datasheet and the manufacturer’s documentation. The change interval applies at normal temperature and humidity and in a dust-free environment. Oil is drained warm, with the machine shut down and depressurised.
