Product detailed description

Altair Ultra is a synthetic oil for industrial compressors in continuous duty. It differs from the other ABAC oils in being listed for piston and screw machines alike — the other ranges are always for one type only. The one-litre pack is meant chiefly for topping up.
When to reach for it
An industrial compressor in continuous duty keeps its oil permanently hot and never lets it cool. A synthetic base holds its thermal and oxidation stability far longer there than a mineral one, so carbon deposits do not form.
A litre is too little for a full change on most industrial machines — the five-litre canister is for that. The one-litre bottle makes sense as a top-up reserve, so that a drop in level does not mean opening the canister.
What the manufacturer states
- Branded oil from ABAC for piston compressors.
- Resistance to oxidation and carbon build-up — the check valve and discharge line stay clean.
- Resealable pack, once opened it can be used for topping up over time.
- The oil capacity of your machine is in the table in the category description.
How it differs from its siblings
The same oil in a canister is ALTU-5. Piston machines in multi-shift duty need only the mineral ALT150-5 or the synthetic ALTPL-5; ABAC SPINN screw compressors take the Rotair range — RTX-20 for the hardest conditions.
Ventilek says
Check the level on the sight glass cold and settled. Topping up by eye while running is the commonest route to overfilling.
Technical data follow the supplier’s datasheet and the manufacturer’s documentation. The change interval applies at normal temperature and humidity and in a dust-free environment. Oil is drained warm, with the machine shut down and depressurised.

A one-litre bottle of the oil the manufacturer specifies for ABAC Line L/V machines and the single-stage A29 and A39. On most of them one pack covers a full change.

The all-round oil for a compressor used in the workshop every day. A grade tougher than the entry Altair Pro, but not yet the industrial range.
A five-litre canister for compressors running several shifts. One pack covers a full change even on the largest ABAC piston machines.
An oil for compressor rooms that get hot in summer. It holds its properties where mineral oil starts to thicken and darken before the interval is up.
A five-litre canister of the highest ABAC oil for piston machines. Unlike the one-litre bottle this is a pack for a full change, not just for topping up.

The company ABAC has been one of the most important manufacturers of piston compressors on the world market since its establishment in 1980 . Currently, the brand ABAC is owned by ATLAS COPCO, the largest compressor manufacturer in the world and is part of the multinational group PAD (Professional Air Division). The goal of the ABAC brand is to become a world leader in the development, production and sale of piston compressors.

Production at company ABAC
ABAC compressors are manufactured in 5 production centers around the world, with an annual production of almost 2 million compressors. The brand's parent plant ABAC in Turin, Italy employs around 250 employees and is primarily focused on the design and production of professional V-belt compressors with a daily production capacity of over 600 machines. The ABAC plant also has extensive warehouse facilities with several thousand compressors available for immediate delivery.

Innovative concept
ABAC does not only mean compressor production. We are directly involved in the development of key innovations and advanced solutions and set trends in the compressor market. The efforts of our designers have resulted in, for example, an aerodynamic pulley housing for temperature reduction of up to 35°C, the revolutionary XPAND hose reel compressor or the PRO LINE ZERO oil-free compressors with V-belts. In the ABAC program you will always find the most modern and unique solution for compressed air production on the market.

A modern solution
We are a modern company that is aware of the current trends around us. We are bringing advanced technologies to the compressor industry, such as the use of QR codes and the AIR TUBE app to make it easier for the user of our compressor to access the information they need. We use social media, chat and multimedia instead of traditional marketing and documentation formats. With compressors ABAC you will always have convenient access to all the necessary information.

Compressor program
In the supplier program of the ABAC brand you will find 100%. The basic range includes 100% from small portable compressors for home applications to larger stationary compressors for permanent deployment.
