ABAC Tech ATH · 15 bar · direct startThe last machine in the range with direct start. ATH-2,2/15-BT delivers 234 l/min at 15 bar and starts up directly — from four kilowatts upwards, the manufacturer already uses star-delta. It is a two-stage unit on a steel support frame, without its own air receiver, with an S1 motor for continuous operation.
Where the limit of direct starting lies
Up to 2.2 kW, the motor starts directly: the contactor closes and the machine runs. From 4 kW upwards it is marked with X in the code and starts via star-delta, because the current surge during direct start would be too much for a standard power supply. If your electrical distribution is weaker or the machine starts frequently, this limit matters more than the difference in output.
Compared to the smallest machine in the range, this is 234 instead of 180 l/min for two extra kilowatts, with the same installation space. Swapping one for the other therefore changes nothing about the setup.
