Industrial piston air compressors
An industrial piston compressor is built for frequent, long running in a workshop or production plant. Its pump turns at no more than 1,500 rpm, roughly half the speed of small plug-in machines, so it heats up less and wears more slowly. We offer 72 such machines.

Direct-drive ABAC Tech
Fifty direct-drive machines: a motor running at 1,400 to 1,500 rpm carries the pump directly on its shaft, with no belts to tension and replace, and is rated for continuous duty. The whole range is described under ABAC Tech industrial compressors.
Oil-lubricated ATL and ATH
Eleven single-stage ATL machines at 10 bar and 25 two-stage high-pressure ATH machines at 15, 20 and 30 bar. They stand either on a base frame, for which you choose your own tank, or on a horizontal 90 or 270 l air tank. The high-pressure machines are sorted by pressure, starting with 15 bar air compressors. Machines with the letter X at the end of their code, from 4 kW upwards, start via a star-delta starter.
Oil-free ATF and ATFS
Eight oil-free ATF machines with an output of 132 to 786 l/min, and six soundproofed ATFS on wheels, five of them for 230 V. They suit places where the air must not contain oil.
Belt-driven machines
Twenty-two machines have a V-belt that slows the pump down to 1,050 to 1,400 rpm.
ABAC Expert Zero
Nineteen oil-free, V-belt-driven twin-cylinder machines at 10 bar with a 50 to 270 l tank, for 230 or 400 V. They stand on wheels and give 165 to 316 l/min — you will find the whole range under ABAC Expert Zero.
Pro Line Expert with a vertical tank
Three oil-lubricated machines on a vertical 150 or 270 l tank that take up little floor space: the single-stage A39BP at 10 bar and a pair of two-stage A49BP at 11 bar.
Piston or screw?
Above 13 bar a piston machine is almost the only option — our screw compressors stop at 13 bar, and only the WALTER SLC compressors for laser cutting have 16 and 20 bar. Where air is drawn at normal pressure throughout the shift, a screw compressor is more economical; the differences are summarised in our comparison of screw and piston compressors.
Frequently asked questions
- Why do some machines come on a frame without a tank?
- They are meant for sites that already have an air tank and pipework, or that need a tank rated for higher pressure. There are 33 base-mounted ATL, ATH and ATF machines.
- Are there industrial piston compressors for 230 V?
- Sixteen, yes — the small ATFS and Expert Zero up to 3 kW and the vertical A39BP-2,2-150VM. The rest need 400 V.

Eleven kilowatts on a base frame. Two thirds more air than the 7.5 kW machine and a different weight class — 185 kg and five decibels louder.
The strongest machine of the category: fifteen kilowatts and over a thousand litres of air per minute at twenty bar. On a base frame, with star-delta starting.
Bare unit with a motor rated at an input of two point two kilowatts. Sixty litres more air than the smallest machine in the range, with the same footprint and only four...
Bare unit with a motor rated at an input of two point two kilowatts. Sixty litres more air than the smallest machine in the range, with the same footprint and only four...
The smallest machine in the series and the most affordable way to achieve continuous operation. A unit with the motor on a common baseplate, without a frame and without a tank —...
The smallest machine in the range on a steel base frame with a terminal box. Ready to be bolted down or set on anti-vibration mounts, with no further work. It weighs 70 kg.
The smallest machine of the range on a steel base frame with a control box. Ready to be anchored to the floor or set on anti-vibration mounts, with no further assembly. It...
The smallest machine in the series as a bare unit with motor on a common base plate, without frame and without a tank — for integration into your own installation. At 45...
A two-point-two kilowatt machine on a steel base frame. The usual choice for a smaller workshop with an air main, where the compressor is to stay put. It weighs 71 kg.
The smallest machine of the range on a steel base frame. Fifteen bar in two stages, without a vessel — the air goes straight into the pipework or into a receiver you already own.
The smallest complete assembly of the range: a two-stage airend mounted on a horizontal ninety-litre receiver. Place it, connect the supply and the pipework.
The smallest machine of the twenty-bar range on a steel base frame. Twenty bar in two stages, no pressure vessel — the air goes straight into the pipework or into a receiver you...
Eleven kilowatts on a base frame. Against the 7.5 kW machine it adds only nine per cent of air, but runs more easily and is 39 kg heavier.
The strongest machine of the category: fifteen kilowatts and over a thousand litres of air per minute at thirty bar. Twice what the eleven-kilowatt machine gives.
A complete assembly: a two-stage airend mounted on a horizontal ninety-litre vessel. The machine arrives assembled — it only has to be placed and connected.
Two point two kilowatts on a base frame. The strongest machine of the range that still starts directly, without a star-delta sequence.
A complete assembly with a horizontal ninety-litre receiver and a direct start. The strongest machine of the range you can place and connect without dealing with star-delta.
Two point two kilowatts on a base frame. The strongest machine of the range that still starts directly, without star-delta starting.
