ABAC Tech ATH · 20 bar · direct startThe last machine in the series with direct start. ATH-2,2/20-BT delivers 174 l/min at 20 bar and starts directly — from four kilowatts up, the manufacturer already uses star-delta. It is a two-stage unit on a steel support frame, without its own air receiver, with an S1 motor for continuous operation.
Where the limit of direct starting lies
Up to 2.2 kW, the motor starts directly: the contactor closes and the machine runs. From 4 kW upwards it is marked with X in the code and starts via star-delta, because the current surge during direct start would be too much for a standard power supply. If your electrical distribution is weaker or the machine starts frequently, this limit matters more than the difference in output.
In terms of output, that's 48 l/min more than the smallest machine in the series, i.e. about a third more. Intake rises from 204 to 252 l/min, and the ratio between intake and delivered air improves from 62 to 69%.
