Altair is the middle oil of the range — for machines that run daily but do not turn over several shifts. A trade workshop, a car service, a maintenance shop. Mineral base with anti-oxidation additives; one-litre resealable pack.
When to move from Altair Pro to Altair
What decides is the annual running time, not the size of the machine. Under 500 hours a year, Altair Pro is enough. Once the compressor runs every day and passes that mark, the oil stays hot longer and needs more anti-oxidation additives.
The manufacturer specifies Altair for the stronger machines: A49B, B49, B59, B60, B70, B79, BV89, CA1 and CA2. These are twins and tandems, where there is more oil and the thermal load is higher.

How many changes it covers
An A49B (1.111 l) takes two bottles, and so do B49 (1.444 l), CA1 and CA2 (1.500 l) and B59 (1.667 l). A B60 (2.556 l) takes three, a B70 (4.000 l) four. For B79 and BV89 (5.111 l) the canister ALT150-5 works out cheaper if the machine runs several shifts.
How it differs from its siblings
For a machine used only occasionally, ALTP-0-25 or ABP-1 is enough. Hot plants call for the synthetic ALTPL-5 and industry for ALTU-1.

Five hundred hours a year is roughly two hours a day. If your compressor runs more than that, Altair Pro is no longer enough for it.
Technical data follow the supplier’s datasheet and the manufacturer’s documentation. The change interval applies at normal temperature and humidity and in a dust-free environment. Oil is drained warm, with the machine shut down and depressurised.
