Air compressors with a vertical tank
A vertical tank stands upright, so the compressor takes up less floor space than a machine on a horizontal air tank of the same volume. There are 34 such machines — piston units from 1.1 kW, dental units for surgeries and ATMOS Albert screw compressors with 7.5 kW.

Why an upright tank
The main reason is space: a vertical machine fits more easily into the corner of a workshop or a small compressor room. Condensate collects at the bottom of the tank and is let out through a valve at the lowest point, so all it needs is draining regularly. Condensate drains and other parts are among our compressor accessories.

Piston compressors for workshops and production
The vertical ABAC Pro Line A39BP, A49BP, B59B and B60 on a 150 to 270 l tank, mostly two-stage at 11 bar; the cast-iron WALTER VWK on 90 and 270 l; and the ATMOS Perfect on 270 l. The Perfect also comes as an SAP package with a built-in dryer and filtration. You will find the whole cast-iron range under ATMOS Perfect.
Clean Air dental compressors
Ten oil-free Clean Air CLR compressors on a vertical 25 or 50 l tank, with a motor power of 1.1 to 2 kW and a pressure of 8 bar. The versions with a membrane dryer supply dry air to the dental unit.
Vertical ATMOS Albert screw compressors
Four E.50 and E.65 screw machines with 5.5 and 7.5 kW on a vertical 270 l tank. They give 870 to 1,000 l/min, the most of any machine on this page.
Horizontal or vertical?
A horizontal tank is more common, and the machines on one are often on wheels. Of the machines on a vertical tank, 29 are stationary and only 5 have wheels. If the compressor stays in one place, a vertical tank saves floor space; separate tanks in both designs are among our pressure vessels. Frequently asked questions
- Do vertical compressors come with a dryer too?
- Ten do: the ATMOS Perfect SAP packages, two ATMOS Albert screw machines and the Clean Air dental units in their dryer version.
- Can a vertical compressor run on 230 V?
- Fifteen machines can — the Clean Air dental units, the ABAC V30 and A39BP, the cast-iron WALTER VWK430 and others up to 2.2 kW. More powerful ones need 400 V.
