WALTER VWK900-7.5/270P Vertical Cast Iron Piston Compressor
The VWK900-7.5/270P is the most powerful vertical compressor in the entire WALTER range. The 3W three-cylinder cast-iron unit has a power input of 5.5 kW (7.5 HP), an intake of 880 l/min and an effective delivery rate of 740 l/min at 10 bar, with speeds of 902 min⁻¹. The vertical receiver is 270 l, powered by 400 V / 50 Hz, with a noise level of approx. 80 dB(A).
No vertical version exists above this class – anyone requiring more than 740 l/min must consider a horizontal machine or a unit on a frame with a separately placed tank. A capacity of 270 l is the maximum available in a vertical design; the same volume is also found in the one-class lower VWK650-5.5/270P. Warranty of 3 years after registration at waltercesko.cz.

Why choose this model
740 l/min is the highest effective delivery available in a vertical version within the WALTER range. The 7.5 kW class (WK1500 platform) simply doesn't exist in a vertical version – if you need high performance and a small footprint simultaneously, this is the limit.
The 3W unit distributes compression across three cylinders in a W-configuration and runs at 902 rpm, well below 1,000. A lower average piston speed means a shorter ring sliding distance per hour of operation and lower heat production – a feature you will appreciate after several years of service.
Out of 880 l/min of intake air, 740 l/min flows into the distribution system, which is approximately 82 %. At 1 kW of input power, this equates to 134.5 l/min. Practically, this means one pneumatic grinder in continuous operation, plus a second person using an impact wrench, blow gun, or ratchet.
The vertical tank has a capacity of 270 l – the same as the one-class lower VWK650-5,5/270P and more than the 90 l tanks found in the 2.2 and 3.0 kW vertical classes. With a difference of 2 bar between the switching-on and switching-off pressures, you get approximately 540 l of free air per cycle; at a continuous draw of 300 l/min, this results in about 20 motor starts per hour. Filling an empty tank to 10 bar takes approximately 3.6 minutes according to our calculations.

The cast-iron cylinder liner and piston rings are standard service parts — the unit can be refurbished after years of use rather than discarded.
Intake filter with steel mesh
The new generation metal insert withstands repeated blowing out with compressed air, whereas a paper insert would tear after a few cleanings.

Transport and Commissioning
The machine is delivered on a pallet. Before the first start, check the oil level, direction of rotation, and the tightness of connections; after the first 8 hours of operation, tighten the cylinder head bolts to a torque of 25 Nm. Leave the electrical connection to a professional — for three-phase machines, it is necessary to verify the correct phase sequence.
