The B70-5.5-270FT draws in 1,023 l/min at 1,100 rpm into a 270 l tank on feet and sends the air through a 1/2" ball valve into the pipework. For a compressor room with no room for a 500, where the bursts in the draw are evened out by the displacement of the pump rather than by the reserve.
Why 270 l on feet
The 270 is a small tank for this pump: the 5.5 kW motor fills it to 11 bar quickly, and the B70 pump with 1,023 l/min then holds the pressure in the pipework by displacement rather than by reserve. It suits a compressor room that is half a metre too short for a 500. A machine on feet has no castors, no handle and no regulator — the pressure switch with a gauge watches the tank, and a regulator with a filter belongs at every workstation downstream of the pipework. The low-speed drive at 1,100 rpm means fewer piston strokes per minute and a cooler pump; the noise of 102 dB Lwa, 82 dB at 4 m, is the same as on the standard B70-7.5.
