B60 · on castors · 270 l · 660 l/min · 1,100 rpmThe smallest machine in the low-speed range and one of the three B60-4s with the lowest noise in it. The B60-4-270CT has the cast-iron two-stage B60 pump with a 4 kW motor at 1,100 rpm: it draws in 660 l/min into a 270 l tank at 11 bar and has 97 dB Lwa, 77 dB at 4 m — 5 dB less than the same pump with 5.5 kW at 1,400 rpm. On castors with a handle and a regulator with two quick couplings, for a tyre shop or a workshop where the compressor cuts in all day long.
Why a B60 with 4 kW instead of 5.5 kW
The pump is the same as on the standard B60-5.5, only it is driven by a motor one size smaller through a greater reduction: 1,100 rpm instead of 1,400. The pistons do fewer strokes per minute, the pump runs cooler and the noise drops from 102 dB Lwa and 82 dB at 4 m to 97 and 77 dB. You pay for it with displacement — 660 l/min instead of 827 — which does not matter with an impact wrench, a ratchet and blowing off at two lifts, but does with two people sandblasting. On the tank there is a regulator with two DN 7.2 quick couplings and two gauges; at the front are swivel castors with brakes, at the rear big wheels.

Where next if the B60-4-270CT is not the right fit
If you want the full 827 l/min from the B60 pump, take the standard B60-5.5-270CT; a bigger reserve with the same low-speed motor is held by the B60-4-500CT. Values apply to a 400 V / 50 Hz supply. Air intake is the amount of air the pump draws in; how much of it reaches the tool depends on the pressure and the tank. Noise is given as the sound power level Lwa and the sound pressure at 4 m from the machine. A piston compressor works in cycles (topping up the tank and pausing), not continuously.

For a tyre shop with two lifts I take this one: 660 l/min is enough, 97 dB Lwa (77 dB at 4 m) is 5 dB less than on the B70 and B79 pumps, and the machine goes wherever you pull it.
