The B70-5.5-500FT pairs the B70 pump with a 5.5 kW motor at 1,100 rpm and 1,023 l/min with a horizontal 500 l tank on feet; the air leaves through a 1/2" ball valve into the pipework.
Why this set-up
The B70 pump with 1,023 l/min and a 500 l tank cover pipework with three to four draw-off points: the tank evens out the bursts, the pump tops it up and at 1,100 rpm instead of 1,300 heats up less doing so. On the machine there is only what belongs in the compressor room — a pressure switch with a gauge, a non-return valve at the tank inlet, a condensate valve and a ball valve on the outlet; regulators with a filter go at the workstations. The noise of 102 dB Lwa, 82 dB at 4 m, is one more reason the machine belongs behind the door of the compressor room.

The same set-up on castors is the B70-5.5-500CT; more air on feet with the B79 pump comes from the B79-7.5-500FT. You get the full 1,210 l/min from the same pump on feet with the standard B70-7.5-500FT. Machines on feet of all brands are compared among stationary compressors; where the air has to be dry already in the pipework, the answer is the version with a dryer.
Values apply to a 400 V / 50 Hz supply. Air intake is the amount of air the pump draws in; how much of it reaches the tool depends on the pressure and the tank. Noise is given as the sound power level Lwa and the sound pressure at 4 m from the machine. A piston compressor works in cycles (topping up the tank and pausing), not continuously.
