The basic mineral Rotair oil in a twenty-litre canister — the pack that moves most on ABAC SPINN screw machines. The manufacturer recommends this oil for compressors up to 30 kW in a mild environment.
Why twenty litres
Unlike a piston machine, a screw compressor has a whole oil circuit — the oil goes round through the cooler and the separator, and there is an order of magnitude more of it in the machine. On ordinary workshop machines the capacity runs from a few to a few dozen litres, so a five-litre pack often does not cover it.
A twenty-litre canister can be carried and poured without a pump, unlike a drum. With one machine in a workshop that is usually what decides.

- Viscosity grade ISO VG 46 — the same across all four Rotair oils.
- The manufacturer quotes the service life at normal temperature and humidity and in a dust-free environment.
- The oil filter and separator are changed together with the oil.

- Ambient temperature range 0 to 30 °C, colour light brown.
How it differs from its siblings
The smaller pack is RTR-5, the drum for plants with several machines RTR-209. A longer interval comes from RTP-20, the hardest conditions are met by the synthetic RTX-20, and food plants take RTF-20.

The capacity is in the machine manual or on the plate by the filler plug. It should not be guessed — an overfilled screw machine carries oil into the discharge.
Technical data follow the supplier’s datasheet and the manufacturer’s documentation. The change interval applies at normal temperature and humidity and in a dust-free environment. Oil is drained warm, with the machine shut down and depressurised.
