A drum of the basic mineral Rotair oil. It makes sense where there are several screw compressors or where the oil is changed regularly in-house. A full drum weighs around 185 kg, so a pump or a drain tap goes with it.
When a drum pays off
What decides is annual consumption, not the price per litre. An opened drum should be used up within a sensible time — oil standing in a workshop for years, drawing in damp, loses exactly the properties it is bought for.
The second thing is handling. A drum cannot be carried or tipped; you need a stand, a hand pump or a tap, and a vessel to measure into. Without that kit the twenty-litre canister works better in practice.

- Viscosity grade ISO VG 46 — the same across all four Rotair oils.
- The manufacturer quotes the service life at normal temperature and humidity and in a dust-free environment.
- The oil filter and separator are changed together with the oil.

- Ambient temperature range 0 to 30 °C, colour light brown.
How it differs from its siblings
Smaller packs of the same oil are RTR-20 and RTR-5. In a drum we also offer RTP-209 with a longer interval, the synthetic RTX-209 and the food grade RTF-209.

Put the drum on its stand as soon as it arrives. Rolling it afterwards, once it is open, is the way to an oiled floor.
Technical data follow the supplier’s datasheet and the manufacturer’s documentation. The change interval applies at normal temperature and humidity and in a dust-free environment. Oil is drained warm, with the machine shut down and depressurised.
