A drum of heavily additised mineral Rotair Plus — the pack for plants that do their own changes and have several screw machines. A longer interval than the basic Rotair means one drum lasts correspondingly longer.
What to work out before ordering a drum
With a drum it is not only the price per litre that counts but how long it will stay open. At a 4,000-hour interval one machine has its oil changed roughly once every year or two — and the drum would stand open too long. It starts to make sense from several machines upwards.
A full drum weighs around 185 kg. It needs a stand, a pump or a drain tap and a measuring vessel — a screw machine is not filled by eye.

- Viscosity grade ISO VG 46 — the same across all four Rotair oils.
- The manufacturer quotes the service life at normal temperature and humidity and in a dust-free environment.
- The oil filter and separator are changed together with the oil.
- Density at 15 °C 0.88 kg/dm³, viscosity index 102, pour point -33 °C.
- Ambient temperature range 0 to 35 °C, colour clear to light brown.
How it differs from its siblings
Smaller packs are RTP-20 and RTP-5. In a drum we also offer the basic RTR-209, the synthetic RTX-209 and the food grade RTF-209.

Write the opening date straight onto the drum. In a year nobody remembers whether that oil is from last year or the one before.
Technical data follow the supplier’s datasheet and the manufacturer’s documentation. The change interval applies at normal temperature and humidity and in a dust-free environment. Oil is drained warm, with the machine shut down and depressurised.
