The WK550-4,0/270P is the pinnacle of the WALTER 3kW class. The cast-iron three-cylinder in a 3W configuration has a power input of 3.0 kW, intake of 530 l/min and an effective displacement of 440 l/min at 10 bar, running at 1 202 rpm. The horizontal air receiver with a volume of 270 l is the largest available for this unit. A 270 l tank combined with 530 l/min intake corresponds to the upper limit of the recommended reserve-to-performance ratio (165 to 275 l), which is the entire purpose of this configuration: the motor switches on less frequently than any other three-kilowatt variant and maintains pressure in the distribution system even during prolonged work. It is a typical machine for a tyre service with a single bay or a workshop where compressed air is used for several hours a day.

A 270 l tank provides approximately 540 litres of free air per cycle with a 2 bar differential between the cut-in and cut-out pressures. The machine thus spends more time working and less time starting up.

Transport and Commissioning
The machine is delivered on a pallet. Before the first start, check the oil level, direction of rotation, and the tightness of connections; after the first 8 hours of operation, tighten the cylinder head bolts to a torque of 25 Nm. Leave the electrical connection to a professional — for three-phase machines, it is necessary to verify the correct phase sequence.
