Why a soft start on the strongest machine
A seven-and-a-half-kilowatt three-phase motor draws a surge on a direct start that can trip a breaker even in a well-sized workshop. Star-delta starting splits it into two steps and cuts the peak sharply; it has no effect on how the machine runs afterwards.
