Pressure vessels and air receivers with a volume of 1000 litres: 13 vessels and 2 fittings kits, the most of any volume in our range. Twelve vessels are rated for positive pressure from 11 to 42 bar, three of them horizontal, and one is a vertical vacuum vessel for vacuum down to −1 bar.

A 1000-litre air receiver serves as the main air reserve downstream of a medium-sized screw compressor. Besides painted and galvanised vessels, the range here also includes stainless steel vessels, a fully equipped vessel and vessels for frost down to −20 °C, for oxygen and for high pressure. For the finish, you choose one of the options listed. The standard vertical vessels, the vessels rated down to −20 °C and the 12-bar horizontal vessel come with paint, zinc or ALM; the fully equipped and high-pressure vessels with paint or zinc, and the 16-bar horizontal vessel with paint only.

How to choose a 1000 l pressure vessel

Pressure is the main deciding factor. A compressor that cuts out at no more than 11 bar goes with a 12-bar vessel, a compressor rated at 13 or 15 bar with a 16-bar vessel, and a high-pressure 30- or 40-bar compressor with a 32- or 42-bar vessel. You can work out whether one thousand litres is enough with our advice centre on choosing the size of an air receiver.

A vertical vessel takes up less floor space; a horizontal one fits under a lower ceiling or on a platform. The horizontal vessels here are the standard 12- and 16-bar vessels and the 11-bar stainless steel vessel.

For air, for water or for the food industry

A painted vessel has blue RAL 5015 paint on the outside and bare steel inside, and it belongs in dry, heated rooms. A galvanised one is hot-dip galvanised inside and out and copes with damp conditions. The ALM internal epoxy coating is approved for contact with food.

Both stainless steel vessels, in AISI304 or AISI316L steel, have no coating, are pickled and passivated, and are the only ones also intended for compressed air with water. The vessels rated down to −20 °C and the high-pressure vessels can also hold group 1 fluids except hydrogen. The vacuum vessel, made to the EN 286-1 standard, is for vacuum only.

Fittings separately or already mounted

Stand-alone vessels arrive without fittings. For the 12-bar vertical vessel, there are the kits KVP1000-12 for the painted version and KVG1000-12 for the galvanised one: a safety valve set to 10.5 bar, a pressure gauge with a test cock, ball valves, a condensate drain valve and mounting hardware. The kits differ only in their mounting hardware, which is why a galvanised vessel always takes the KVG kit.

The fully equipped vessel VVP2-1000-12A arrives with the same fittings already mounted and with the TÜV certification of the pressure assembly. The valve opens at 10.5 bar even though the vessel can withstand 12 bar, so both the kit and the fully equipped vessel belong with compressors up to 10 bar.

What pressure rating should a 1000 l air receiver have?

A 12-bar vessel for a compressor up to 11 bar, and a 16-bar vessel for a compressor rated at 13 or 15 bar. A painted one is enough for a dry compressor room, while damp conditions call for a galvanised one.

Is a 1000 l pressure vessel suitable for water?

Both stainless steel vessels are intended for compressed air with water. For the other vessels on this page, water is not among the intended media.

Which 1000 l vessel is suitable for the food industry?

The one with the ALM internal coating: the standard vertical vessel for 12 or 16 bar, the horizontal one for 12 bar and both vessels rated down to −20 °C.

What about inspections of a 1000 l vessel?
