The bigger of the two 15 bar machines. The B70-7.5-500FTXH draws in 930 l/min with the cast-iron two-stage B70 pump unit at 1,000 rpm and a 7.5 kW motor, and fills a horizontal 500 l receiver to 15 bar; 102 dB Lwa, 82 dB at 4 m. For a tyre shop with several workstations, material cutting or pressure testing of pipework — where air is drawn in long bursts and the receiver has to be topped up quickly.

Why the B70 at 15 bar instead of the B70 at 11 bar

At 11 bar the same B70 pump unit draws in 1,210 l/min at 1,300 rpm; here the belt drive slows it to 1,000 rpm and the displacement drops to 930 l/min. In exchange for those 280 litres a minute you get 15 bar in the receiver — the pressure for tools and processes that want more than 10 bar at the tool, and about a third more air in reserve in the same 500 litres. The star-delta starter panel with the unloading solenoid valve starts the 7.5 kW motor with a lower inrush current and with no pressure in the head; the 2,030 × 670 mm footprint is the same as on the 500-litre machine at 11 bar. If your demand is steady, without peaks, and 11 bar is enough, you get more air from the basic version; if you want 15 bar without pauses for the whole shift, you need a machine built for it — the ATH range.
