Product detailed description

Pro Line compressor with a B70 pump and a dryer on a 500 l tank from the front — the same pump, tank and dryer as on the B70-7.5-500FTXD (older manufacturer picture, direct-on-line version)B70 · dryer +3 °C · 500 l · 1,210 l/min · star-delta start

The biggest machine of the range with a dryer. The B70-7.5-500FTXD fills the 500 to 11 bar with the cast-iron B70 pump, a 7.5 kW motor and 1,210 l/min of displacement; the refrigerant dryer downstream of the tank holds a pressure dew point of +3 °C and the star-delta starter panel starts the motor with a lower current. With 102 dB Lwa (82 dB at 4 m) it is as loud as the machines with the B60 pump. For a blast cabinet for whole parts or a workshop where several people draw air at once and there must be no water in the pipework.

The biggest pump of the range, only with a star-delta start

The B70 pump runs at 1,300 rpm and gives you 383 l/min more than the B60 — air for blasting whole parts or for three workstations at once. The 7.5 kW motor has the biggest starting current of the three and with a dryer we carry this machine only with a star-delta starter panel: a start in star with roughly a third of the current, delta once up to speed — the supply never gets the current surge of a direct-on-line start. The 500 holds the reserve, the dryer downstream of it dries the air to +3 °C, the condensate leaves through the electronic drain. It is still a piston machine with cycles of topping up and pausing; if you draw air without a break for the whole hall, you are already in screw compressor territory.

Equipment and details

What the B70-7.5-500FTXD has from the factory

  • two-stage twin-cylinder B70 pump with cast-iron cylinders and an intercooler, oil-lubricated, with an oil sight glass; V-belt drive geared down to 1,300 rpm, moulded belt guard
  • three-phase 7.5 kW (10 hp) electric motor, 400 V / 50 Hz, thermal overload protection; automatic stop/start pressure switch with a gauge; starter panel with a star-delta switch for a lower starting current
  • air intake 1,210 l/min, pressure 11 bar, aftercooler on the pump outlet
  • refrigerant dryer on the tank: pressure dew point +3 °C, electronic condensate drain, bypass line; piped up and wired at the factory
  • horizontal 500 l tank on feet with a valve for draining condensate; outlet to the pipework downstream of the dryer (regulator, filter and quick couplings at the workstation)
  • noise 102 dB Lwa, 82 dB at 4 m
  • AirTube QR code on the tank opens service videos; 2-year warranty (extension to 3 years at extra cost), 10 years on the tank against rusting through

Where next if the B70-7.5-500FTXD is not the right fit

The same 500 with a dryer, but with the B60 pump at 827 l/min and a direct-on-line start, is the B60-5.5-500FTD; if you would rather have the dryer separately in the pipework, take the basic B70-7.5-500FT without a dryer. If you draw air without pauses for the whole hall, you move on to a screw compressor. Machines with 7.5 kW across brands are shown among compressors with a 7.5 kW motor; all five, from the smallest to this one, are shown on the range page for the machines with a dryer.

Values apply to a 400 V / 50 Hz supply. Air intake is the amount of air the pump draws in; how much of it reaches the tool depends on the pressure and the tank. Noise is given as the sound power level Lwa and the sound pressure at 4 m from the machine. The pressure dew point of +3 °C applies at the working pressure of the machine. A piston compressor works in cycles (topping up the tank and pausing), not continuously.

Ventilek advises

A blast cabinet for whole parts or a body shop with three people on the tools: 1,210 l/min, dry air from the machine and a start in star that spares the supply the current surge.

The company ABAC has been one of the most important manufacturers of piston compressors on the world market since its establishment in 1980 . Currently, the brand ABAC is owned by ATLAS COPCO, the largest compressor manufacturer in the world and is part of the multinational group PAD (Professional Air Division). The goal of the ABAC brand is to become a world leader in the development, production and sale of piston compressors.

Factory of ABAC, the compressor manufacturer

Production at company ABAC

ABAC compressors are manufactured in 5 production centers around the world, with an annual production of almost 2 million compressors. The brand's parent plant ABAC in Turin, Italy employs around 250 employees and is primarily focused on the design and production of professional V-belt compressors with a daily production capacity of over 600 machines. The ABAC plant also has extensive warehouse facilities with several thousand compressors available for immediate delivery.

Production of ABAC piston compressors

Innovative concept

ABAC does not only mean compressor production. We are directly involved in the development of key innovations and advanced solutions and set trends in the compressor market. The efforts of our designers have resulted in, for example, an aerodynamic pulley housing for temperature reduction of up to 35°C, the revolutionary XPAND hose reel compressor or the PRO LINE ZERO oil-free compressors with V-belts. In the ABAC program you will always find the most modern and unique solution for compressed air production on the market.

Innovations in ABAC brand compressors

A modern solution

We are a modern company that is aware of the current trends around us. We are bringing advanced technologies to the compressor industry, such as the use of QR codes and the AIR TUBE app to make it easier for the user of our compressor to access the information they need. We use social media, chat and multimedia instead of traditional marketing and documentation formats. With compressors ABAC you will always have convenient access to all the necessary information.

Easy servicing of ABAC compressors
