The B60-2x4-500FT fills a horizontal 500 l tank to 11 bar with two cast-iron B60 pump units with 4 kW motors: the belt drive turns them at 1,100 rpm and the displacement is 1,320 l/min; noise 100 dB Lwa and 80 dB at 4 m. For an operation where the tandem cuts in and out for the whole shift: a pump unit at 1,100 rpm makes fewer strokes a minute than at 1,400.
Why the B60 with 4 kW instead of the B59B with 4 kW
Both tandems have 4 kW motors and almost the same displacement — 1,320 l/min against 1,306. The difference is in the pump unit: the B60 is a bigger pump, which the belt drive turns at 1,100 rpm instead of 1,400, so for the same air it makes fewer strokes a minute. If you want the full 827 l/min from the B60 pump unit, reach for the version with 5.5 kW motors; if you have an operation where the tandem cuts in and out for the whole shift, take this one. In slack periods one pump unit runs with 660 l/min, at the peak both; a 500 l tank with a footprint of 2,030 × 670 mm, outlet through a ball valve into the pipework.

The same B60 pump units with 5.5 kW motors and 1,654 l/min go into the B60-2x5.5-500FT; almost the same displacement from two smaller B59B pump units at 1,400 rpm comes from the B59B-2x4-500FT. The same B60 pump unit with 4 kW, on its own on a 500, is the B60-4-500FT with one pump unit. Values apply to a 50 Hz supply. Air intake is the sum of the air drawn in by both pump units; how much of it reaches the tool depends on the pressure and the tank. Motor power is the sum of both motors. Noise is given as the sound power level Lwa and the sound pressure at 4 m from the machine. The dimensions are those of the machine without packaging. A piston compressor works in cycles (topping up the tank and pausing), not continuously.
