The B60-2x5.5-900FT: the same two cast-iron B60 pump units with 5.5 kW motors and a displacement of 1,654 l/min at 1,400 rpm, but a horizontal 900 l tank at 11 bar; noise 100 dB Lwa, 80 dB at 4 m. For a production shop with long peaks and pipework across the whole hall, where the 900 has something to hold and both pump units run longer at a stretch instead of frequent short starts.
Why a 900 under two B60 pump units
We carry the same B60 pump units with 5.5 kW motors on a 500 l tank as well; 900 l does not add displacement, but it changes the rhythm of the machine. It takes longer for the pressure in the tank to drop to the cut-in value, so the pump units start less often, and once they run, they run longer at a stretch — which does them more good than short cycles. Pipework across a hall with long runs has something to draw on even while both pump units are standing still. You pay for it in floor space: a 2,070 × 800 mm footprint and 1,570 mm of height instead of 2,030 × 670 × 1,400 mm on the 500.

A piston compressor works in cycles (topping up the tank and pausing), not continuously.
