Galvanised pressure vessels and air receivers
Galvanised pressure vessels and air receivers from 100 to 10000 litres — 69 vessels and 9 KVG fittings kits. They are hot-dip galvanised inside and out, so condensate cannot corrode the steel from the inside either. You can choose from vertical and horizontal vessels for 8 to 42 bar, stand-alone or fully equipped with fittings.
A galvanised air receiver belongs in damp rooms and with operations that produce a lot of condensate. Every vessel in this listing is also made painted, 31 of them also with the ALM internal coating, and you choose the version on the vessel’s product page. In the horizontal design, galvanised vessels are made only in the volumes of 270, 500 and 720 l for 11 bar and 1000, 2000 and 3000 l for 12 bar; all other galvanised vessels are vertical.

When a galvanised air receiver pays off
A painted vessel has bare steel inside, while a galvanised one has a layer of zinc on the inner wall too, so damp bothers it less. It suits a damp compressor room, operations with a lot of condensate and high-pressure compressors: at high pressure, more water condenses out of the air.
Outdoors, the zinc also protects the steel from rain and damp. If the vessel is to stand outdoors or in an unheated hall, choose from the vessels rated down to −20 °C; standard air receivers are designed for temperatures no lower than −10 °C.
How the vessel is galvanised and how to recognise it
A galvanised vessel is dipped whole in molten zinc, so the zinc covers the wall inside and out. On the product page, you can recognise it by the letter G as the third letter of the order code; the painted variant has P and the variant with the ALM internal coating the letter A.
KVG kits and fully equipped galvanised vessels
A stand-alone vessel is delivered without fittings. For the vertical galvanised vessels from 100 to 720 l for 11 bar and from 1000 to 3000 l for 12 bar, there is a ready-made KVG kit: a safety valve set to 10.5 bar, a pressure gauge, ball valves for the air inlet and outlet, a condensate drain valve and the mounting hardware. For some sizes, the KVP kit for painted vessels differs in its reducers and plugs, so a galvanised vessel always takes a KVG kit.
The fully equipped galvanised vessels from 100 to 3000 l have the same fittings already mounted and come with TÜV certification of the pressure assembly. Both the kits and the fully equipped vessels suit compressors with a cut-out pressure of up to 10 bar.
Pressure, directives and inspections
Galvanised vessels are rated for 8, 11, 12, 16, 32 and 42 bar. Vessels up to 720 l for 11 and 16 bar are manufactured to the SPVD Directive 2014/29/EU on simple pressure vessels, and large vessels from 1000 l and high-pressure vessels to the PED Directive 2014/68/EU. Ventilek’s tip
Zinc will not drain the condensate for you. Condensate does not corrode a galvanised vessel, but it collects at the bottom just as in a painted one and is carried along with the air into the pipework. Drain it every day, by hand with a valve or with an automatic condensate drain.
- When should I choose a galvanised air receiver instead of a painted one?
- For a damp compressor room, for an operation with a lot of condensate and for a vessel that stands outdoors. For dry, heated rooms, a painted one is enough.
- Is a zinc-coated vessel the same as a galvanised one?
- Yes, in the e-shop filter the zinc-coated version is called galvanised. The vessels are hot-dip galvanised, by dipping in molten zinc, and are protected inside and out.
- Are small vessels also galvanised?
- No. The smallest galvanised vessel holds 100 l. Small vessels up to 50 l and vacuum vessels are made in a painted version only.
- Which fittings kit goes with a galvanised vessel?
- A KVG kit for the same volume and pressure as the vessel. The KVP kits are intended for painted vessels.
- Is a galvanised air receiver suitable for the food industry?
- Where the air comes into contact with food, choose a vessel with the ALM internal coating, which is approved for contact with food. For 31 vessels in this listing, the ALM version can also be selected on the same product page.
- Which vessel should I choose for my compressor?
- The pressure on the vessel’s data plate must be at least as high as the compressor’s maximum pressure, and the size depends on the compressor output and on how much the air demand fluctuates. The calculation method is shown in our advice centre on choosing an air receiver.
