Regulátory tlaku vzduchu mají svoje místo všude tam, kde je na tlakové sestavě třeba regulovat tlak vzduchu či jiného média na přesnou hodnotu. Typicky může jít o zajištění vhodného tlaku pro pneumatické nářadí a automatické linky. V největší míře se regulátory vyrábí se závitovým připojením a liší se taktéž dle maximálního vstupního tlaku, pracovního tlaku a samozřejmě také dle konstrukce.
